Younès came head-to-head with Cheik Tiote which led to a straight red card by referee Anthony Taylor, bringing his team down to 10 through the second half of the match.
Younès felt he was receiving a back tackle from the Ivorian midfielder, which is why he reacted in such a way. "I nearly fell due to a dangerous back tackle from the player, which is why I reacted the way I did", said Younès. "I know I shouldn't have reacted in such a way, this is not my nature", he added. "I do apologise to my team and I would like to say sorry to all the fans. I do hope we will never see such behaviour on the pitch again".
Despite going down to 10 players, the Spurs pushed on scoring a second win, thus giving them a second victory within 3 days. So far, Tottenham Hotspur are on a streak of 8 matches with no defeat.
Younès was delighted with the performance. "We showed good and strong character, it was a hard match and at half time, it was 0-0", he added. "We wanted to score rapidly at the beginning of the second half in order to take control of the match and that is what we did. The most important thing was to take the 3 points", he concluded.
